Originally from Dallas, Texas, Kim attended the U.S. Naval Academy, serving as a nuclear submarine officer after graduation. Subsequently, he earned his MBA from Northwestern University and MPA from the University of Minnesota. Kim and Leesa, his wife, have two grown children.
